God Who Sees

God is not disconnected from His creation. God sees everything that happens in our universe. Since God is outside of space and time, He sees everything that each of us do all of the time. He sees and He cares. That is what Hagar found out after she was given to Abram by Sarai, so she could bear a son in Sarai's place, so this son could be the heir Abram needed. Sarai's ill-conceived plan did not work out well. Hagar was proud when she conceived, and she treated Sarai badly. Abram had his wife send her away, but God had other plans. The Angel of the Lord (Jesus) went to her and told her to return to her mistress and submit to her. He also said that Hagar would bear a son, and she would have a multitude of descendants. Hagar was overwhelmed that God would meet with her, and she could see Him. (Genesis 16:13) Therefore, she named the God who spoke to her, "The God Who Sees." It was very hard for her to conceive that she actually saw the One who sees her. I wonder if we have come to know the Lord in the way Hagar came to know Him. If not, we need to learn from this account.

We can sin and run from God, but we can't get away. God sees our sins, and He sees our running. He knows just how to come to us and what to say. God has a wonderful plan for each of us. We could be a poor servant, but God might decide to bless us with many offspring and a wonderful future, if we will just trust Him and do what He says. Whatever is going on in our life, we can be assured that God sees. If we are doing the wrong things, they are not hidden from God's eyes. He will send punishment for those things. If we are doing God's will, He sees, and He sends us blessings for our faithfulness. We should not be amazed when we see the Lord coming to us with the right comfort and direction at the right time. After all, He is the God Who Sees. Let's always keep this fact in mind, so we will live in a way that will honor Him and receive His blessings.
