Clothed and in his Right Mind

The presence of Jesus in our life makes a profound difference. We go from death to life. We go from being lost to being found. We become fixed in so many ways, instead of being completely broken. In fact, having the power of the Lord in us makes us "normal." We become as the Lord designed us to be from the very beginning. We see a dramatic example of this truth when Jesus encountered the demon possessed man named Legion. This poor man had been naked and living among the tombs for years. No one could tame him, because he would break any bonds they used to try to subdue his strength. I am sure it was miserable having so many demons controlling his life. However, when he encountered Jesus, the demons were sent out of him, and a great transformation occurred. (Luke 8:35) The people gathered around to see what had happened. They saw Jesus, and they found the man who had been demon possessed sitting at His feet, clothed and in his right mind. It was so shocking to them that they were frightened. They should have been praising Jesus, but they had never seen such a change in a person.

I wonder what we would be like if we were totally normal, completely like the Lord created us to be? We would have a clear conscience, because we would have turned from our sins and put our trust in Jesus to cleanse us from our sins. The sins would be gone, and a great weight would have been lifted off of us. We would be filled with His Spirit, so we would have the fruit of the Spirit and experience the love, joy, and peace of the Lord each day. We would be clothed nicely to cover our nakedness and present a modest image of our inner self. We would be in our right mind, because we would have the mind of Christ to be able to think and to see things the way God sees things. That is normal to the Lord, and normal is what gives us the abundant life in Christ. We find our meaning and our satisfaction in knowing Him and living for Him. I pray that I have just given a description of each of us, but if not, today you can go to Jesus and seek His forgiveness and His transforming presence in your life.
