Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

The Christian life is hard. It is a spiritual battle against Satan and his forces of evil. It is a long race that leads us to our goal, heaven. It is one struggle after another. So, how are we supposed to endure all of this and finish well in our Christian life? The answer is fairly simple, even if it is not easy. Keep our eyes on Jesus. Yes, Jesus is Lord and Savior, but He became a man to purchase our salvation. In that process, He became our example of how to live the life of being faithful to the Father. (Hebrews 12:2) Always remember, Jesus began and finished the race we are in now. Therefore, if we study how He did it, we can see our way clearly. Jesus did it by never losing sight of where He was headed, that exhilarating finish in and with God. That is why He could put up with all of the Cross, the shame, and everything else He had to endure. Now, He is in the place of honor, right alongside God. I pray we all learn this lesson well.

How will you manage to keep your eyes on Jesus each and every day? It takes our commitment to spending time with Him as we begin our day, praying about all things all day, and focusing on the Word of God. Each one of us has to decide the best way to do that for us. Then, we can study how Jesus lived and remained faithful in the Bible. Whatever we see, we apply that to our life immediately, and we keep doing it with the help of the Spirit. All along we are keeping our eyes on Jesus and striving for the goal of being faithful to the finish, so we can enjoy Heaven. If we will do that, all of the troubles along our way will pale in comparison to being with the Lord and having Him to be pleased with us.
