By My Spirit, says the Lord
Zerubbabel was the governor of the land when the people returned from Babylon to rebuild the temple in the days of Zechariah. The people were not builders, and they did not have much power at all. However, they were able to set the foundation of the house of the Lord. It seems that Zerubbabel did not know how they would be able to complete the rest of the work the way God expected. So God sent His word to Zerubbabel through His prophet Zechariah. (Zechariah 4:6) We all need to take this verse to heart, since we are all weak and unable to do God's will in our own power.
When God does His work in us and through us, He does it by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, so He is All-Powerful, and All-Wise. He can and will empower us to do whatever God has for us to do. Therefore, when we hear from the Lord through His Word or directly from His Spirit, we must not give Him the excuse that we do not have the strength or the power to do it. He knows that before He tells us. He expects us to have faith in Him, so that we trust that where God leads He provides. God's work is always a supernatural work of faith on our part, and power from His Spirit to do more than we would ever think possible. Please, we must keep this verse in mind all of the time as we pray. Then, when God shows us His will, we simply say "yes." Then, we watch to see how He will do it by His Spirit.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 6-8.
