The Lord on Our Side
In life, we face all types of challenges. There are people who get angry with us and attack us. Some of them truly mean to do us harm. It is at times like that that we need the Lord to be on our side. The psalmist had experienced this situation, and he came away with a stark realization that we all need to have. (Psalm 124:2,3) Let's see what he told us.
The psalmist realized that if the Lord had not been on their side, the angry people would have swallowed them up. He was so thankful for the deliverance of God. I pray that all of us understand that God wants to be on our side. He wants to fight for us. When He is on our side fighting, we can never be overcome. However, we have to cease trying to win the battles all by ourselves and invite God to be with us, right at our side. Then, we have to submit to His way, so He can bring us to victory. We must never insist on our own way. Therefore, let's give the Lord all of the credit for our deliverance, as the psalmist did. It is only the Lord who can save us every time.
