Without Excuse

God has revealed Himself to every person who has ever been born into this world. Therefore, they are without excuse for not putting their faith in Him as Lord of all. (Romans 1:20) In fact, He has revealed His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and His diving nature to be specific. Therefore, we can be assured that all people have had enough shown to them to trust the Lord.

Often, we hear about people asking the question, "What happens to people who never hear about the One True God and about Jesus?" This verse and other verses in this passage assure us that they have had even more revelation of God than word of mouth through other people. They have received God's witness in their own hearts, so that they are without excuse. Then, what I believe the Bible is teaching is that anyone who receives this revelation from the Father and trusts Him as Lord of the universe will also have the revelation of Jesus Christ given to them by receiving a Bible or by hearing from other people in some way. Then, since their hearts are open and trusting in God, they put their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, as well. The problem is not that they have not heard. The problem is that they have heard, but they do not want to trust God. They want to worship creation, instead of the Creator. They want to live their way and not God's way.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 2-4.
