Trusting God's Daily Grace

Manna was God's food for the Israelites, as they traveled through the wilderness for 40 years. It was used to make a delicious bread with a honey taste, and it fell like the dew every morning, so the people could collect it and prepare it every day. However, the bread came with a test to see if God's people would walk in His law or not.(Exodus 16:4) Let me explain.

God gave them just enough bread for each day. If they tried to save it for the next day it would spoil and stink. Then, on Friday they were to gather two days worth, so they would not have to cook on the Sabbath. Those who went out on Saturday morning found nothing. God was testing to see if they would trust in Him for His daily grace. Grace is a free gift from God. Manna was God's gracious gift to them each day. If they would trust Him and do His will, they would have enough food for each day. However, this principle goes for all we need.

God's grace is available for His children for what we need each day. He does not give it early, and we can't save it for the next day. We must trust Him every day for the needs of that day. Some people would like God's grace for their dying day now, because they are somewhat afraid of dying. We don't receive that grace until that day. See what I mean. God knows what we need each day. If we trust Him and do His will, we will have all that we need for that day. It is God's daily grace.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 17-19.
