In The Beginning God
What is in the beginning of 2015 for you? I know we have only just begun January 1, 2015, but I believe this is a question for all of us to answer as we start a new year of life. God should be in the beginning of all that happens in your life every year and every day.(Genesis 1:1) Think about it a minute.
God was in the beginning of the heavens and the earth. He created all that is in existence. In the beginning God is a basic fact of existence. God is eternal, so He was and is in the beginning of all things. We can't get away from God because He will always be here. However, we have the choice of whether to acknowledge His presence and position of not. There are people who do not believe that God created the heavens and the earth. Their worldview begins with something else besides God. That is dangerous. Let me just warn you, since whatever comes first shapes all everything for you. If God is not in the beginning creating everything in your worldview, what is your ultimate reality? See what I mean?
However, since in the beginning God did create everything, He must come first in all we do. Will we let God be the beginning of every day for us in 2015? Will He be in the beginning of every prayer, every decision, every relationship, and every financial decision? If in the beginning God is true of all we do, then we will keep everything in line with our Creator and Lord this year, which will make for a very good year, indeed. However, if God does not come at the beginning of everything for us this year, we could get things very wrong. After all, He is ultimate reality. He is the creator of absolute truth. If we act before we check with Him, which we can do if we choose, we are moving forward in the dark, instead of His light going before us.
I pray that your life will be an "in the beginning God" life in 2015, so that when you look back, you will see that you put Him first in everything every day.
