Causing Thanksgiving to Abound

There are many things for which we should be thankful all of the time and especially on Thanksgiving Day. There is one thing that causes thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. (II Corinthians 4:15) I pray that it is a huge part of your celebration today.

God's grace has been spread by many people ever since Christ died and rose again to purchase our salvation through His blood. These people have spread God's grace by showing others that salvation is a free gift from God when we repent of our sins and trust Christ as Lord of our lives, because He did die in our place. We can't be good enough to be saved from our sins, and we can't do works that cause us to earn our salvation. However, we can realize that we are sinners and turn away from our sins. We can realize that we can't save ourselves and turn to the Lord Jesus as the only one who can save us. We can realize that He is worthy of all of our trust and loyalty. We come to realize these things when another person shares the gospel of salvation by grace through faith with us.(Ephesians 2:8,9) Once we trust Christ, we know we must give all of the glory to God for our eternal salvation, because He is the Only One who can save anyone in this world, and our thanksgiving abounds to God.

Please, stop and thank God for His grace today. Share the simple gospel message with others, so they will know He deserves all of the thanks and glory. Perhaps, someone else will trust Christ today, and thanksgiving will abound even more to God's glory at your Thanksgiving celebration.

Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 5-8.
