That All Peoples of the Earth May Know
God's purpose has always been that all peoples of the earth would come to know Him.(II Chronicles 6:33) Each people group poses a challenge as to how to present the gospel in a relevant way, but that is our challenge, so that we can fulfill God's purpose.
I think it is especially important that we hear this passage from Solomon's prayer to the Lord at the dedication of the Temple. He specifically mentions the foreigner, a non-Jewish person, who calls to the Lord in prayer. He asks for God to hear that prayer, so that the name of the Lord could spread to the whole world. God's name is who He is, the One True and Living God. Solomon prayed that in the time of the Old Covenant with Israel. They were always supposed to spread the name of the Lord, but they didn't. Now, Christians are supposed to be doing the same thing, but we are failing, too.
Please, pray for Lori, my daughter, who is a missionary to Japan. She is speaking to the ladies of the Georgia Woman's Missionary Union today. Ask God to give her the words that will touch the hearts of the ladies, so that all the peoples of the earth may know the Lord.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 9-12.
