Eternal Life = Knowing God
Religion is useless. Relationship is the key. No one gains eternal life through a religion. Jesus told us in John 17:3, "And this is eternal life, that they my know You, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom You sent." Knowing God is what brings eternal life.
Many people think that knowing God is impossible. If that is true the whole Bible is a lie. The Bible is the inspired story of how God created the world and revealed Himself to the world. His ultimate revelation of Himself was Jesus Christ, who was also the One who paid for our sins by dying in our place and rising again to prove His claims to be Lord and Savior. From the story of Abraham in Genesis 12 to the account of John in Revelation 1 there is one account after another of people who came to know God in a personal relationship. That is what God wants for each person born into this world.
God hates religion, but He loves relationship, because He is Love. Once we come to know Him, we are given His life which is eternal. The Holy Spirit comes to live in us and lead us into all truth. Truth is knowing God, too, because truth is not a concept. It is a person, Jesus Christ.(John 14:6) I pray that we all have this close personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ which brings us an endless life to relate to Him and to serve Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read John 21 and Acts 1-3.
