Far More Abundantly

I love the verses God gave me to meditate upon today, as I was doing my unhurried time with Him this morning. (Ephesians 3:20-21) These verses are a "doxology" from the pen of the Apostle Paul as inspired by the Holy Spirit. I have a strong feeling they came out of his personal experience with the Lord, too. The word "doxology" comes from the Greek word for praise. It is an explanation of why we should praise the Lord. Paul gave them all of the time in his letters. I think he must have made it a habit to praise the Lord. The Lord loves the praises of His people.

We should praise the Lord for the realization that He is able to more than we can ask or think. He does it far more abundantly, too. Just think of God's miracles in your life. Each of them is greater than you could ever have anticipated, because of His great power and love. This power is "within us." It is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

We are to give Him all of the glory. We, as believers, are the church, and it is up to us to glorify Him. Even Jesus gave all of the glory to the Father when He died on the Cross for us. This process of giving Him the glory will last for eternity. It will be the centerpiece of what we do in Heaven. He is truly worthy of all of our praise, for He has done far more abundantly than we could ask or think in saving us and sustaining us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 11-13 and Ephesians 4.
