Watching for Jesus
We think a lot about Jesus' birth at Christmas, as we should. However, how much time do we spend with the Lord, and how much do we consider the Second Coming of Jesus? In other words if Jesus came again on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day, would He find us being faithful? I am afraid that many people forget their time with Him and the Great Commission at Christmas, because they are too busy celebrating His birth. That is a dangerous way to live.
My memory verse for today was from Revelation 16:15. It tells us that Jesus is coming like a thief, and we are blessed if we watch for Him and live in righteousness. Then, we will not be caught spiritually naked at His coming. If Jesus comes at Christmas, He might find a lot of naked Christians. I hope we will all watch and pray so we will honor Him every day and be as ready for His return as we are to celebrate His birth.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Haggai and Revelation 17.
