Our Advocate, Jesus Christ - Ezekiel 45-46 and I John 2

It is probable that Ezekiel is describing the Temple and the city of Jerusalem during the 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth that we call the Millennium. It is interesting to think about the Jews coming to know Christ as Savior and still going to the Temple for the sacrifices and feasts. Why would they do that? I think it is God's way of showing them what they missed before, and teaching them how everything in the Old Covenant pointed to Christ. This will lead them to see that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, and I believe, it will cause them to trust Him even more. The Jews, today, need to see Jesus through the Old Covenant, so they do not think He is separate from the Old Testament.

John explained it very well, when He told us that Jesus is our Advocate. He is our defense attorney. He died for our sins, and He is the one who saved us when we turned to Him in faith. Therefore, if anyone wants to question our salvation, all we have to do is to refer them to Jesus. He will show them how He saved us and how He keeps us. That is also why we should listen to Him. We owe everything to Him. It doesn't make any sense for us to live like this world wants us to live. This world has not done anything for us that is worthwhile. We are not to love this world, but the One who died for us. The Antichrists in this world will lead us to believe that Jesus is not God in the flesh. However, that is Satan's lie. Jesus is the one and only way to be saved from sin, and He stands ready to defend us and support us completely. Therefore, the whole world, both Jews and Gentiles, need to see Jesus as our Advocate. He died once and for all that we might have life through His blood. He fulfilled the Old Covenant, and He is founder of the New Covenant.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 47-48 and I John 3.
