Saved to the Uttermost - Jeremiah 48-49 and Hebrews 7

All of the nations around Israel were destroyed by Babylon just like God's people, because of their trust in idols. Their idols could not save them. Their idols were lifeless and powerless. God is alive and all-powerful. He was showing them the error of their ways, so that they would turn to Him. I am afraid many people still did not realize their need for the Lord, because people tend to listen to Satan and put their trust in things or other people who can't save them. Satan leads people to pursue things that can only satisfy them for a short time. In fact, he leads them to seek things that will harm them in the long run, after a little pleasure. God leads people to seek Him, so He can save them to the uttermost.

Hebrews 7 explains the difference between Jesus, as our High Priest, and the priests of the Old Covenant, who were of the tribe of Levi. Jesus is completely superior to them because He is eternal and He never sins. Therefore, He is always alive, and He is always there to make intercession to the Father for us. That is why we can know that we are saved to the uttermost. We have come to the Father through Jesus, our High Priest. The Father accepted Jesus' death for us on the Cross as the full payment for our sins. He raised Him from the dead to show His pleasure for what He had done and to prove He was the Lord and Savior of the world. Then, He exalted Him to sit at His right hand, where Jesus continually looks out for those who have trusted Him and He intercedes for us. What more could anyone ask for? That is salvation to the uttermost! That is eternal security. We should fall on our knees and worship Jesus who loves us so much that He will pray for us continually before the throne. We should let others know how they can be saved to the uttermost.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 50 and Hebrews 8.
